Liebe Inayati-Familie,

The Lexicon of the Sufis
Mondays, Sep 9, Oct 7, Nov 4 & Dec 2. All friends, new and returning, are invited to join us as we explore the terminology of the Sufis as set out in A Glossary of Sufi Technical Terms by Abd al-Razzaq al-Qashani, a key textbook in Sufi circles for the last six and a half centuries. During each class, Pir Zia reviews the terms in alphabetical order, according to the original Arabic. Then he may also add terms unique to the lexicon of the InayatiyyaMore details and registration.

The Alchemy of Happiness

Sundays, Oct 6 - Nov 10. This fall we turn toward what it means to create happiness in life. Over six weeks, Pir Zia will guide us through our own inner happiness landscape, providing simple yet profound teachings from the work of the Sufi mystic, Hazrat Inayat Khan. We will explore themes such as cultivating purpose, developing a positive attitude, dealing with life’s struggles, tempering our reactions, and how to find meaning—all leading to greater contentment and happiness. More details and registration.

Prophets of our Being

November 15 - 17. In the second installment of our Inner History series, we will survey the seeds planted by illuminated prophets and sages in many parts of the world from the Copper Age to Late Antiquity. We will discern the hand of the Spirit of Guidance in the world’s history, and see how our own awakening is an outgrowth of the revelations brought through the trailblazers of the human journey to the Infinite. More details and registration.

Pir Zia Fall Programs In Person

Awakening to the Spiritual Guidance of the World @ Fazal Manzil

September 7 - 8. In this retreat, through discourse and meditation, we will attune to the “Diwan” comprising the spiritual guides of all lands and eras, and will moreover discern the specific figures whose wings are, so to speak, over us at this juncture in our lives. In this way, we may more fully dedicate ourselves to the service of the Divine light, love, and life pouring into the world from the Absolute. More details and registration.

Noor Inayat Khans 80. Todestag

September 13 - 19. For the 80th anniversary of Pirzadi Noor-un-nisa Inayat Khan’s death on September 13, 1944, there will be events from 13-19 September 2024 throughout Germany—in Dachau, Munich & Berlin. Pir Zia will actively take part in this week-long commemoration. More details and Zoom link.

Seven Activities Programs Online

The Divine Names

Thursdays, Sep 5, Oct 3, Nov 7 & Dec 5. We invite you to explore a mine of unfathomably vast spiritual treasures in the community of like-hearted seekers: the Divine Names. We will approach these sacred names through their sound, explore the layers of meaning they encompass through their etymological roots and their reference in the Holy Qur’an, in the teachings of the Sufis and especially of our Inayatiyya lineage, and immerse ourselves in their mysteries through invocation in sacred remembrance. This monthly series is led by Zumurrud Butta and Naima Brown, together with our dear friend and special guest teacher Omid Safi. More details and registration.

No God or Only God

Sunday, September 29. Please join us as we launch our dear friend and teacher Suhrawardi Gebel’s new book, No God or Only God. We will explore the questions, “What is God and how do we make God a reality?” Our program will be both informative and experiential, including readings as well as related practices. This event is free and open to all yet does require pre-registration. More details and registration.

Breath w/ Amida & Jacob

Tuesdays, Oct 15 - Nov 19. In this six-week journey, we will explore the profound role of the breath in spiritual development, drawing on the wisdom of Sufi mystic Hazrat Inayat Khan. While using the breath as an object of concentration is a common and valuable meditation technique, Hazrat Inayat Khan’s teachings on the breath point to a more comprehensive role in spiritual development. Whether you’re new to breathwork or a seasoned practitioner, this course will provide valuable perspectives on the transformative power of the breath. More details and registration.

The Foundations of Healing

Saturdays, Oct 12, Nov 9 & Dec 14. The Foundations of Healing is a doorway into Hazrat Inayat Khan’s Sufi teachings on healing. We will delve into practices of Divine healing and transformation that live within each of us. By developing one’s capacity through the exploration of the heart and the breath, transformation can be found within the body, mind, heart, and soul. The course is based on the newly developed Essential Healing Manual, an introduction to the foundations of healing in the Inayatiyya Healing Activity. More details and registration.

The Path of the Healer

October 17 - 20. On behalf of the Inayatiyya Healing Activity, we kindly invite you to join us for our annual Sufi Healing Retreat. It is based on the teachings of the Sufi musician and mystic, Hazrat Inayat Khan (1882-1927) and is traditionally in two optional parts. This year the first two days, October 17th & 18th, are designed for Inayatiyya Healing Activity Leaders, and the second two days, October 19th & 20th, are held as a general healing retreat open to all. More details and registration.
